Joy and Peace

What is the secret of joy and peace? You may have noticed that many have no joy and peace. It is because of what they believe.

Now the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that ye may abound in hope, through the power of the Holy Ghost. (Rom. 15:13)

The secret is to believe. “Now the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing…” Believing what?

What we believe sets the course of our lives. What we believe about God, ourselves and the world creates the foundation on which we build our future.

Anxiety in the heart of man causes depression. (Prov. 12:25)

For as he thinks in his heart, so is he. (Prov. 23:7)

Many live their lives reacting to circumstances, submitting to passing emotions, and even subconsciously believing that God is controlling everything in the world. They approach life as victims. Such thinking eliminates true joy and peace from their lives. There may be moments of happiness, but abiding peace and joy are unknown. Anxiety is a tough taskmaster.

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace… (Gal. 5:22)

If we believe we can only live in our own strength, there will be no peace and joy. If we believe that we can live by the Spirit of God, peace and joy will sustain us.

You will show me the path of life; In Your presence is fullness of joy (Ps. 16:11)

Do you believe that God loves you? Do you believe that you are lovable? Do you believe you have eternal value? Do you believe that God wants to bless you, prosper you and heal you? What do you believe? It has everything to do with the rest of your life. What you believe will determine whether or not you live in joy and peace.
