A personal reflection on dealing with stress and pressure in online economics studies, sharing simple strategies that helped me stay on track even when I felt completely overwhelmed and unmotivated.

The process of coping with the feeling of being overwhelmed in my online economics studies was not that straightforward, as I never truly liked the subject. Everything was tiresome because of constant flow of assignments and complicated theories, as well as deadlines. At certain times, I was totally stagnant and demotivated and was not even sure how to cope with the course flow.

The stress got so high at a certain point that I even went on a search engine and typed words such as, take my online economics class for me. It was an indication of the desperation that I felt to be relieved of the pressure. Nevertheless, rather than surrender, I proceeded to adapt my strategy and work on proper work allocation.

I began dividing the tasks into small and achievable bits and setting specific goals to achieve on a day-to-day basis. This made me feel less stressed and more in charge of my progress. I have also developed a study routine that was simple and therefore I was able to stick to it without being tired.

I still do not really like economics but I know how to cope with the pressure now. Not liking the topic is not the objective of coping with overwhelm it is the desire to devise methods that would allow you to continue on the path even when the topic seems challenging.
