The Tactics of the Zero-Sum Rulebook

Comments · 121 Views

This chart provides a clear collation of the most common tactics of zero-sum civilizations in
International contests.

This chart was created as the basic corollary to the 3-Part Geocritical Thought Series. The chart was created to provide non-zero sum states the tools to formulate better strategies to protect resources, sovereignty, land and human capital. It also underscores the point that in contests with zero-sum actors
it is best to focus on offensive and defensive tactics rater than seek a compromise of understanding.  These tactics are most often used by zero-sum actors because they are also highly effective against the
zero-sum actor.

It is imperative to note that zero-sum actors respect and recognize power and violence. It responds best to harsh tactics that force it to back down. Therefore, states that leverage power or violence against it directly, earns its respect and fear. Thus the zero sum actor backs down for a time to retrench, pivot to
a Proximity Reversal or abandon the effort. The Sino rare earth reciprocal embargoe against the US is a prime example. The law of the jungle mandates that the zero-sum predator takes on game that he can
capture and kill without the danger of mortal injury. It is why zero-sum civilizations are always out to raid, hunt or "explore." The Historic record shows us non zero-sum civilizations often travelled worldwide, traded and left without disruption. Therefore, even small States must inflict a plausibly
deniable asymmetrical injury against a zero-sum opponent so that it is cautious in the future. Bending to a zero-sum actor means there will be future demands and violence. Better strategies can be formulated
to manage zero-sum civilizations and groups and gaurd against incursions and loss. Ones greatest defense however is distance, fortification and minimal engagement
